The Big Help out & Heritage Day

The Big Help out & Heritage Day

On Monday, 8th may, the station will be hosting a heritage and volunteering day, which will tie in with ‘the big help out’.  This is a u.k. wide initiative launching over the coronation weekend to inspire as many people as possible to try volunteering for the first time.

We would love people to volunteer to come and help plant the banks outside the station, so do bring your gardening gloves!

Our heritage event will feature memorabilia from several resident’s collections, including many photos and stories from the last 50 years (and more!). We are hoping to have live music and homemade refreshments.

We will also be launching The Williams Award, Hollingbourne’s first community award. named after Alan Williams, who was a long-time resident and ardent campaigner for the village.

We would like you to nominate somebody in the village who you feel lives up to Alan’s mantra ‘improving the quality of life for the residents of Hollingbourne’

Please use the email below to send in your suggestions, with a brief note about why you have nominated that person.

This award will be presented annually, the first being presented at the heritage and volunteering day on Monday, 8th may
